NEW popular destination - Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos & Thailand - help a community today 02 Feb 2011

We have recently sent some School and College groups on Community challenges to Vietnam & Thailand, and they have been immensely successful. We thought it would be a great idea to open this opportunity up to our other schools or groups of all ages and backgrounds as it is a wonderful way to help these disadvantaged communities and see some of their country while you are there. Tours can be organised to suit your particular curriculum subject, eg history, food technology, geography, art, languages, or

Community Challenges involve short term project work in a disadvantaged community in places such as Vietnam, Cambodia or Laos. Involving 2-7 days working side-by-side with the locals building, renovating or doing some basic development work which will make a real difference. Our Community Challenge program is a series of powerful and inspiring team challenges that develop and motivate staff (or schools/ Clubs), while providing much needed assistance to the developing world and raise vital funds for these communities. The experience will immerse your group and each individual into a local culture and encourage teamwork, working alongside the local community.

Examples of Community Challenges:

- Building or renovating a classroom in a hill tribe region of Vietnam

- Upgrading Orphanage facilities (eg: building water tanks, vegetable gardens)

- Developing housing for Agent Orange effected communities

- Developing water sanitation in impoverished communities in Cambodia or Laos

What to do: Decide how long you would like to volunteer for, list your other areas of interest that you would like to see in Vietnam and/or Cambodia and we will do the rest.  Your community project will be fitted in around your educational touring, so you will get a chance to see these beautiful countries as well as giving worthwhile assistance to people in need. We already have a shortlist of communities in need of assistance and will tailor an itinerary for your group, and arrange all accommodation, meals and transfers over there and your International flights from Australia.

Are you in the early stages of thinking and planning your excursion and needing ideas? Ask us for a Quotation Request Form to help with the destination you have in mind.

Quotation Request forms are designed to assist you with all the information we need to know to start working out a quote for your group -including the reasons for travel, your required standard of accommodation, the number of people in your group, your preferred time of travel, the number of meals you would like included, number of the attractions you would like to visit and the type of transport you would like to utilise.

As experienced tour operators we have identified these are the options that have a big impact on the price of your excursion. For example the more people you have travelling in your coach, the cheaper per person the coach portion will be.

All you need to do is ask us for a Quotation Request Form to any of our destinations, and we will fax or e-mail it through for you to fill out - it’s as easy as that.

Subject - Food Technology 02 Feb 2011

Take your students on a culinary journey…..

Students who study food technology develop knowledge and understanding about food systems in the production, processing and consumption of food and an appreciation of their impact on society. The subject helps to develop a knowledge and understanding about the nature of food and human nutrition and an appreciation of the importance of food to health.

This is all done in the classroom; however the best way to educate is to experience, and where better to experience Australia food diversity than our very own food mecca’s….Sydney and Melbourne.

 Sydney

It has been said that Sydney is the best food city on earth! So many varied cuisines represented but not just that, the food available is sometimes better in the country of origin as Australians are proud to have the best produce in the world.

Why not put together an excursion to discover what Sydney has to offer? Your group could visit Sydney Fish Market and take a cooking class at the Sydney Fish School. We can organise cooking classes that cover a wide range of cuisine or we can organise guided tours of produce markets and a variety of primary producers.

Melbourne

Melbourne is a concentration of world dining with plenty of choice for you and your students. Your group could do a guided tour through the infamous Queen Street Markets, a guided walking tour to take in the sights, sounds and smells of

Melbourne. We can organise a number of cooking classes for your group and you could even have a little time dedicated to shopping!
