Through Science students develop skills, knowledge and
understanding so they are able to make sense of and explain
the biological, physical and technological world. By doing this
it enables them to make individual informed and responsible
decisions within the community. Students will learn about the living and
non-living world through examining the historical and ongoing
contribution of scientists, also gaining valuable knowledge
about scientific research, society, technology and the
environment.
- knowledge and understanding about fundamental
concepts relation to living things and their environments, past,
present and future.
- is an understanding of matter and its interactions,
focusing on investing the physical and chemical properties of
substances, chemical reactions and processes. Students will learn about
the interaction of energy and atomic matter and
attempting to explain and predict events at the atomic and
molecular level.
- Focuses on investigating natural phenomena and
then applying patterns, models (including mathematical ones),
principles, theories and laws to explain the physical
behaviour of the universe. It uses an understanding of simple
systems (single particles and pairs of particles) to make
predictions about a range of objects from sub-atomic particles
to the entire universe and aims to reveal the simplicity
underlying complexity.

- The oceans cover more than 70 per cent of the
earth's surface and influence all forms of life on this planet. They are
viewed as an alternate area rich in minerals and marine life which can
supply our needs virtually without limit. Australia has approx 70,000
km of coastline, 14.5 million square km of continental shelf, 11,000
islands, 783 major estuaries all containing unique and diverse life. When
studying Marine Studies you are provided with an opportunity to explore
it more closely and to appreciate its value.
An ETS tour themed to Marine Studies can provide first hand
experience for students and visit many different locations. This gives
students the opportunity to gain skills to use and protect its unique
ecosystems, and at the same time communicate their appreciation to
the community.
Marine Studies – Queensland, Sydney, Tasmania
An ETS tour can be solely focused on one particular Science subject or can be
combined with others to provide a rounded itinerary. These tours can
be local, domestic or international and developed individually to suit
your needs.
Please fill out the Contact Us page and let us know what destination
and the theme/subject you are interested in and we will send you some
information. It is also helpful to include in this information any particular
place of interest you may like to visit so we can incorporate this into the
itinerary. We can also provide suggestions to suit your tour and
budgets.
